10.00am - 1.00pm
The PREMIER FLYING model aircraft Swapmeet in the North West of England!
This event - although traditionally called a Swapmeet, and which was started by David Lloyd-Jones 25 years ago, and taken over from David by my wife and me recently - allows you to bring along your cast off model flying paraphernalia (but only things to do with model planes and model workshop equipment etc.), and sell or swap it for other goodies, or just take home the money if you are selling up! Each table is 6ft long, and you can pay for as many tables as you need, and there are approximately 95 available in the hall - this is potentially 200 metres non-stop of model stuff in one room! We believe this makes "Northwich" the largest Swapmeet of its type in the UK.

It has been at the same venue now for 22 years, and is so well established, that visitors come from France, Belgium, Germany and other countries, in the hope they may buy model planes, cast off or even unused model goods, a hard to find collectable model engine, collectable aeromodelling magazines or books, or perhaps that elusive pre-war unmade kit for their collection!

These items are usually all there in varying quantities each year, as well as many, many, modern ready made aircraft, modern usable engines, and everything else you can think of in used (and sometimes unused) condition including all types of modelling equipment!

One section of the room is described by me as "Engine Alley", and this is where I try to put the collectors who are likely to bring the largest stock of model engines with them to sell or swap! The section takes up approximately 20 tables - yes, about 40 metres FULL of model engines, both collectable, and current versions, to make your mouth water! This section, due to lack of room for the latecomers, has frequently spilt over to the rest of the room too, so there are usually even more engines available to tempt you!

It is held at the Memorial Hall in the centre of Northwich in Cheshire and the address is Chester Way, Northwich, CW9 5QJ - this is a large, light, airy, modern concert hall with restaurant and bar etc - the event is held between 10 am. until 1 pm., but those who wish to have a table to show their wares, can enter the hall at approximately 9.15am. to set up.

Car parking is plentiful, close by, and FREE!
